Med Pearls Project
Most models of tourism in the Mediterranean area are based on mass tourism and follow a fragmented vision of the region as a sum of different markets. Med Pearls aims at internationally positioning the Mediterranean as a unique and integral destination to experience the Med lifestyle through SlowTourism (ST), inviting travellers to discover sustainably and responsibly new destinations while taking time to have direct contact with local communities. The project will deliver a set of 26 new ST products created by local Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and ICT enterprises thanks to financial and technical support called Product Development and Innovation Facilities.

Les Garrigues in a Motorhome
One of our longest itineraries, join us on this guided trip where we’ll take you on a 15-day motorhome trip through the best the region of Les Garrigues and its surroundings have to offer.
Itinerary
All year round
At the agreed time, meet up with the group at the motorhome site of Les Borges Blanques, located at the entrance of town, near the motorway, which makes it easy to get to if you’re coming from Barcelona or Lleida
Les Borges Blanques is the regional capital of Les Garrigues in the province of Lleida. It’s located between the area irrigated by the Urgell Canal and the areas of the Catalan Central Depression.
Presentation and short briefing on the trip.
Excursion to visit Montblanc. Located in the province of Tarragona and declared a Monumental and Artistic Complex, the capital of the region of Conca de Barberà is breathtaking at first sight due to its well-preserved wall surrounding a network of cobblestone streets, giving rise to an old town brimming with old churches, squares and charming nooks and crannies. Montblanc is one of the most gorgeous places to visit in Catalonia.
Time to enjoy the surroundings, make the most of the time, have a chat with its lovely owners, enjoy the sunset and go for a stroll through this wonderful slice of peace and quiet. There are also cycling routes available.
We can take a tour of the vineyards and winery, after which we’ll get to taste the wines made at this estate.
We recommend paying a visit to the centre of Arbeca to buy local products at the town’s farmers’ co-op. If you wish, you could have dinner at a recommended restaurant bearing the local seal of quality.
Guided tour of the winery and wine tasting at Vinya Els Vilars included.
We’ll drive to Fulleda, a small village located at the interfluve between La Granada and Els Escortals valleys.
Free time for you to visit small villages that we recommend such as Tarrés, a small village with narrow streets and stone houses. You can shop for some local produce at the old winemaking co-op and El Sindicat there. Stroll along Carrer de l’Església until you get to the Church of Santa Maria Assumpta and Plaça de la Font. You can spend the day in Tarrés or continue to Fulleda, which is just 10 kilometres away.
The small village of Fulleda is located around the Tower, an ancient fortress of which only a few vestiges remain. The village’s charm lies in its narrow streets, the parish church of Santa Maria and its local co-op.
Explore the surroundings of Fulleda. At the agreed time, a guide will arrive with bicycles to take you on a cycling excursion to discover an environment brimming with nature and heritage in the Vinaixa Valley. You can enjoy a picnic during the excursion before heading back to the motorhome.
Guided MTB excursion with picnic included in Fulleda included.
We’ll drive slowly through the mountains of Prades and the Serra de Montsant Nature Park. We’ll enjoy the sprawling mountain landscapes along side roads that go up and down, winding around these areas.
Travelling through mountain landscapes, we’ll find small villages in search of their local co-ops where we can buy local products until we get to the town of Flix, which sits on the banks of the Ebro River in the region of Terres de l’Ebre.
Free time to explore the area and visit the Seves Nature Reserve, one of the most important natural spaces in the Terres de l’Ebre. The unique location of this natural space is the reason why there’s an animal population of great interest, most of all birds.
With the motorhome still in slow mode, we’ll drive along side roads and enter the Bovera Valley.
We’ll take a guided tour of the Bovera Valley and lunch. Some areas of this valley are experiencing a reactivation, with the creation of organic products alongside the promotion of the conservation of their agricultural, landscape, natural and cultural heritage.
This way, during the guided tour of the valley, we’ll come across traditional architectural elements that have been restored and get a first-hand look at organic farming and the biodiversity project featuring Catalan donkeys (‘rucs’) in place here. At the end of the activity, we’ll have lunch.
We’ll take a short trip in the motorhome to climb to the top of the valley and take in views of the Bovera Valley. From a lookout point in La Granadella, weather permitting, we’ll be able to see the path that took us to this amazing location on the horizon.
We’ll visit the Olive Oil Museum of Catalonia. This museum interprets ancestral olive oil production facilities such as the ancient oil mill, the best-preserved one in the region. At the end of the tour, you can buy local products at its local co-op.
Guided tour of the Bovera Valley and lunch and Entrance ticket to the Olive Oil Museum of Catalonia included.
We’ll go on a guided tour of the most iconic spots in the old town and the museums of Les Borges Blanques, l’Espai Macià and the Cal Gineret Oil Mill – an Interpretation Centre for the Democratic Memory of the Spanish Civil War – where you can get a first-hand experience of what life was like in 1938. At the end of the tour, there’s an olive oil and food pairing experience by the vats of the Cal Gineret Oil Mill.
After the tours, we’ll have lunch at local restaurant.
After bidding the group farewell, you can continue on your way or stay in town.
Entrance tickets and guided tours of the old town, l’Espai Macià and the Cal Gineret Oil Mill, including an olive oil and food pairing experience and dinner at local restaurant in Les Borges Blanques included.
