Most models of tourism in the Mediterranean area are based on mass tourism and follow a fragmented vision of the region as a sum of different markets. Med Pearls aims at internationally positioning the Mediterranean as a unique and integral destination to experience the Med lifestyle through SlowTourism (ST), inviting travellers to discover sustainably and responsibly new destinations while taking time to have direct contact with local communities. The project will deliver a set of 26 new ST products created by local Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and ICT enterprises thanks to financial and technical support called Product Development and Innovation Facilities.

Les Garrigues in a Motorhome

Enjoy an educational trip in a motorhome and learn how farming can be respectful towards the region’s cultural and landscape heritage.

Itinerary

All year round

You’ll take a guided tour of the Bovera Valley and lunch. Some areas of this valley are experiencing an economic reactivation, with the creation of organic products alongside the promotion of the conservation of agricultural, landscape, natural and cultural heritage. This way, during the guided tour of the valley, you’ll come across traditional architectural elements that have been restored and get a first-hand look at organic farming and the biodiversity project featuring Catalan donkeys (‘rucs’) in place.

We recommend exploring this small village and visiting its co-op to buy local products.

By travelling in the motorhome along side roads, you can enjoy the gorgeous landscapes of the area throughout the approximately 60 kilometres it will take you to reach Juneda.

Here you’ll find the La Manreana farm experience, which has a motorhome site. On this farm, you’ll find farm animals as well as wild animals. Most of them are animals native to the area from a recovery centre as they could not be successfully reintroduced back to their natural habitats.

Enjoy your time at the farm and make the most of all the activities on offer. Whenever you feel like it, you can go back to the motorhome to get some rest and relaxation.
