Buena Ruta exists to offer you the opportunity to travel by motorhome, camper or caravan in Spain, Portugal and North Africa. Whether you are an experienced and veteran campervanner or you are just getting to know the world of motorhomes, you will be welcome. The whole Buena Ruta team is at your disposal, we will advise you and help you with everything you need to make the most of your free time travelling in a motorhome.
We put at your disposal group trips for motorhomes, guided trips adapted to motorhomes where all year round you can enjoy a wide range of excursions, visits, meals and all the characteristics of an organised trip: local assistance guides, private transport, restaurants, parties and the company of our Good Route organisation motorhome. You can also rent a motorhome and create your own tailor-made trip to enjoy a different kind of holiday.
No, it is only necessary to have a motorhome and to pay the relevant deposit, depending on the trip and before the dates indicated.
Contact us through the contact form that you will find in the trips, remember to select the option «I want to rent a motorhome». You can also request a rental quote without obligation from the motorhome rental section.
Check the registration deadline for the trip. Because our trips involve a certain amount of organisational and booking work: visa processing, vehicle registration, boat reservations according to season, overnight stays, etc., etc., it is necessary that you can sign up in advance.
This is the minimum number of motorhomes we need to make a trip.
You can check the status of registrations in the information of each trip, we recommend that you sign up for the trip you are interested in. If you do so, your motorhome will count as one more motorhome in the group (and there will be one less to reach the minimum group size).
You can make a reservation from our shop or through the option «Book places on this trip», which you will find in all the trips on our website. In our online shop we will not ask you to make any payment, we will only provide you with an account number where you can make a direct transfer of the deposit for the trip. If you have any questions you can also contact us or make a request from the contact form. In all cases we will send you more information about the trip and the registration form that you will have to fill in and send back to us. This way, once we confirm receipt of the deposit, you will be registered for the trip and you will help us to complete the minimum group of motorhomes required.
The final payments start at the moment of the confirmation of the trip, when we already have the minimum group of motorhomes. For more information, please see our general terms and conditions.
The deposit and booking is valid for 2 years. When a trip is cancelled, all the people who have signed up for the trip will be called for the next scheduled departure of the same trip. At this point, the client can choose whether to continue to sign up for the trip or cancel the booking and get their deposit back.
It is the exact place where the journey starts. The meeting point is communicated to the travellers as soon as they register for it. Travellers must arrive at the Meeting Point during the announced day. Unless otherwise informed, it is necessary to arrive at the Meeting Point with full fuel and water tanks and an empty grey water tank. In the event that the organisers set a time for arrival at the meeting point, it is the responsibility of the traveller to arrive at the meeting point in good time.
This is the person in charge of the trip and is responsible for coordinating all the services. He/she knows the itinerary of the trip and among his/her tasks is to inform about the different possibilities offered by each place and to suggest activities, although he/she does not necessarily have to participate in them. For justified reasons, and always looking after the smooth running of the trip, he/she may modify the planned itinerary. The accompanying guide is in charge of managing all the times of the trip.
Among motorhome users it is common to use radio stations, we recommend that you bring one with you to enhance the travel experience. The type of radio station we use is called CB 27 Mhz. These are stations that do not require installation. These transmitters are used during the trip for internal communications between the motorhomes in the group. Their use enlivens the road stages and facilitates the work of the accompanying guide both to give information of tourist interest and to inform the group of any stop or setback. The use of a transmitter is not obligatory for the trip. If you do not have a transmitter and you wish to travel connected with the group, let us know your need and we will provide you with a rental one.
Unless otherwise communicated by the organisation, the vehicles will travel together in numbered formation. This numbering will be given by the accompanying guide at the Meeting Point and only the guide will be able to change the established order. It is important not to break the order or the formation. Any variation must be communicated to the accompanying guide.
At Buena Ruta we take into account the fatigue caused by driving, so during each road stage we schedule stops every 2 hours. The pace on the road interferes with the stops, so it is possible that in some cases the accompanying guide may have to improvise them. The guide is in charge of setting the time for each stop, and it is the duty of the travellers towards their fellow travellers to comply with these times.
The accompanying guide is in charge of the distribution of the vehicles in the places where we will spend the night. At this stage of the trip, we ask for patience and cooperation from the travellers.
Refuelling will be marked by the accompanying guide, and will be done in groups and at large petrol stations. It is possible that on some occasions it may be necessary to refuel at small petrol stations. If this is the case, it is important to follow all the instructions given by the guide and to be patient.
The accompanying guide is responsible for informing the travellers where these actions are to be carried out. It is the traveller’s duty towards his fellow travellers to have the motorhome ready for departure according to the timetable. Preferably, the actions should be done in the morning or during the night before departure. We try to ensure that all overnight accommodation is adapted for the correct emptying and filling of water. It is possible that due to external causes, some services may not be at full capacity (especially outside Europe). If for any reason it is not possible to carry out these actions at the overnight stay, the accompanying guide will arrange the time to be able to do them as soon as possible during the day.
The restaurants included in the trips have been chosen in order to be able to taste the variety of the local gastronomy of the country. Please let us know in good time before departure if you require any special dietary requirements. Unless otherwise informed, drinks are not included in the restaurants. We also ask that in appreciation of the service travellers will receive from waiters and other restaurant staff, depending on the country, it is the traveller’s duty to tip between 5 and 10% of the total amount consumed.
